Narrative: 

This clip shown here shows that this girl is joining the school as the bottom of her face is shown in the car with her uniform showing. The first impression the audience may infer is that she is rich due to her father owning a Mercedes and having a custom number plate.The new character might impact the existing story line as maybe a threat to the main character for example she could be a competitor for a love interest.

Character: 

The new character,Gabriella, comes across as the antagonist as she is shown as rebeliant  towards her parents and takes instructions literal. Gabriella already caused a disequilibrium in her first scene where she may have destroyed a relationship by kissing the boy and could cause Drama. The father of Gabriella is the father figure in this scene as he orders her around. The other Characters in this clip are minor characters or do not represent any character type.
Iconography: 

The uniform being shown over here would indicate to the audience that the sub genre of this is a highschool drama, the use of incomplete uniform or flawed uniform shows the school is in trouble and students being rebellious and this not being an orderly school. This is also shown as a highschool drama as we can clearly see some books and pencil cases.

Setting: 

The setting of the show is quickly introduced when the students are seen with there uniform on as that immediately lets the reader know that the show is based in a school. It also introduces this sterotype as there are many different group e.g goths, jocks and the cool kids. This allows the audience to easily identify that this is a school environment.
